A Checklist will help make your big day a wonderful day

Because there are so many details relating to a wedding you really need to use a checklist to make sure that you don't forget anything important that could ruin your special day. If you use a wedding checklist to plan your big day you are giving yourself every chance of having an absolutely wonderful wedding. Your list should be tailored for your specific needs and desires – this will help take the pressure off and relieve the (inevitable) stress you’ll feel as the day gets closer.

If you can do it you should have your checklist in place six to twelve months before the wedding day. Your checklist should include the actual wedding date and time, lining up a florist and a caterer not to mention a photographer and a DJ. You will need to reserve the venue to have your wedding as well as a location for the reception.

Your checklist must include other vital details such as, choosing who will be in your wedding party and ordering the invitations. You need to pick out a wedding gown, the wedding attendant’s dresses as well as the attire for the groom and his groomsmen. Don’t forget the all important wedding rings!

All of the above are the major things that you should arrange as early as you possibly can. On your wedding checklist make sure you put reminders in for yourself relating to details that will be happening as you get closer to the date, such as ordering your wedding cake, your flowers, sending out the invitations and the final fittings for everyone's wedding attire. You’ll also need a reminder to place a wedding announcement in your local paper.

There are so many other things that you will need on your wedding list such as, music for the wedding, a guest book, printed napkins, thank you cards, wedding favours, decorations and a limo service.

As you get to within four to six weeks before your big day you should go over your checklist to make (absolutely) sure you haven't missed anything.

There are, of course, so many more things than what is written above that you will need to put on your specific wedding planning checklist that are important to your wedding, but they give you an idea of the things you will need to include.

For those that can afford it perhaps the top thing to put on your wedding checklist should be hiring a Wedding Planner to help you plan your special day. This can take a lot of stress off of you and your family and allow you to relax and enjoy the process and the actual wedding day.
